It's been a FABULOUS week! I don't think I've been think excited in a looong while. I've had one fun and amazing year with all these books and authors and followers and more books. So many stories I'm happy I read and of course some I wish I hadn't wasted my time on. In one year I created this blog, made AMAZING friends with book junkies FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD, added 4 amazing women to this blog, and most importantly did the one thing I love to do, read. What else can a book lover ask for? Well more books and more bookish friends...yeah I'm sure I'll have more of those in the coming days, weeks, and months. :D

I hope to have more books to talk about, more incredible interviews, and so much more! Oh! Be sure to enter all the AMAZING giveaways!

Blogoversary Day 4: The Rockstars!

 photo 84c78093-eb92-4be5-a9bb-e0b0356664b9_zps59ed6e09.jpgHola!

Day 4 of the celebration! Today I want to talk about all the authors I've had the absolute pleasure of meeting (through the interwebs, of course). Here I had this picture in my head that they all like to keep to themselves but I've learned not to generalize because some of these authors are AWESOME! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be able to talk to authors and talk to them about their books!  Or that they would even be so darn nice! I've been able to ask them some questions, read their books before they are even out and more. To all the authors who have ever tweeted, messaged, emailed, or anything back to me,  Thank you! You guys are my rock-stars. Just please try not to leave me with huge cliffhangers :D

Be sure to enter the rest of the giveaways!

Wicked Kiss by Michelle Rowen

Wicked Kiss (Nightwatchers, #2)Book: Wicked Kiss
Series: Nightwatchers #2
By: Michelle Rowen
Published: Harlequin Teen 26th Feb 2013
Genre: Paranormal
Reviewer: Catherine

What Goodreads says: My kiss can kill.

I used to be ordinary Samantha Day, but that's changed. Now, after one dark kiss from a dangerous boy, I can steal someone's soul…or their life. If I give in to the constant hunger inside me, I hurt anyone I kiss. If I don't…I hurt myself.

Bishop is the one whose kiss I crave most, but if I kiss him, I'll kill him. Then there's another boy, one I can't hurt. One whose kiss seems to miraculously quell my hunger. They're both part of a team of angels and demons that's joined forces in my city to fight a mysterious rising darkness, an evil that threatens everyone I know and love. I just wonder if I'll be able to help Bishop—or if I'm just another part of the darkness he's sworn to destroy….

My thoughts on this book: I really enjoyed this book. I quite often find that if I really enjoyed the first book that the second book is kind of disappointing but that isn't what happened with this book.

We continue following Samantha as she tries to deal with all the changes in her life and her relationship with Bishop and to a lesser degree Kraven. Not every relationship is going to be perfect from the start.  Almost every relationship is going to face trials and challenges along the way and there is plenty of that in this book. There are certain events in this book that do hint at the continuation of a love triangle throughout but as you read on you realise that it isn't and never really was. It was much more a test of their love, faith and commitment to each other. In saying that I'm not saying that Sam and Bishop have a happy ending, they have a lot more challenges to get past before they can really be together and not every relationship can stand up to the challenges these two face along the way.

Aside from the relationship drama, so many things happen in this book. Sam is still fighting against the hunger of being a "gray" while trying to hide being a nexus from the team, and trying to save her best friend Carly. But that is far from the end of there troubles. A new angel arrives to be part of the team and she is different from the others. Questions are raised about exactly what her mission is. Unlikely friendships are formed and built especially after a new threat appears, this time its not the soul stealing demon Natalie but something just as evil.

At times throughout this book I thought I could guess what was going to happen but it rarely happened the way I thought it would. I also really liked hearing a lot more of Bishop and Kraven's past and a bit more about several of the other characters.

At this stage this is the last book in the series and as such it does have quite a definite ending tying the story together but also leaving a little opening for the possibility for the story continuing at a later date.

I give this book 4 STARS!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

**** Happy Readings! ****

The Boyfriend List by E. Lockhart

Title: The Boyfriend List
Author: E. Lockhart
Published: March 2006
Series: Ruby Oliver, #1
Genre: Chick Lit, Realistic YA
Reviewer: Hannah

Synopsis (Goodreads):

Fifteen-year-old Ruby has had a rough ten days. During that time she:

-lost her boyfriend (#13 on the list)
-lost her best friend (Kim)
-lost all her other friends (Nora, Cricket)
-did something suspicious with a boy (#10)
-did something advanced with a boy (#15)
-had an argument with a boy (#14)
-had a panic attack
-lost a lacrosse game (she's the goalie)
-failed a math test (she'll make it up)
-hurt Meghan's feelings (even though they aren't really friends)
-became a social outcast (no one to sit with at lunch)
-had graffiti written about her in the girls' bathroom (who knows what was in the boys'!?!)

But don't worry--Ruby lives to tell the tale. And make more lists.

I don't usually read chick lit, but I was dared to read it (I was at the library with a friend and we pulled out books with suspicious titles and dared each other to read it--my dare was The Boy Book, Ruby Oliver #2). I am actually quite impressed. While Lockhart's characters aren't amazingly and superbly drawn, it was still better than your average YA.

Ruby's story was somewhat relatable for me because it takes places in Seattle, and I used to live there. Hot tubs? Dick's Burger and Shakes? Seattle people love those things! There's no way Lockhart isn't a Seattle girl, because she's recreated the lifestyle of a Seattle teenager perfectly.

A few of the characters were annoying at times, but I can easily look past that. Ruby's character was sarcastic and facetious without crossing the line into the realm of cynicism and annoyance. I can appreciate that, as with a lot of YA, the author attempts to make the protagonist witty and sarcastic and "relatable," when in the end, they just become annoying.

I highly recommend E. Lockhart's Ruby Oliver series, especially if you're looking for some slice of life chick lit to devour:)

Blogoversary Day 1: How it started.

Hello Hello!
animated party photo: party 21m9gg5.gif
It's a celebration today! You may or may not have noticed that BooksBooks&MoreBooks is turning ONE! One year old! Ah, where has the time gone?! I've had so much fun this last year!
  photo 84c78093-eb92-4be5-a9bb-e0b0356664b9_zps59ed6e09.jpg
Blow out the candle guys! *throws confetti*

Listen up my peeps because I am going to share a story. A story about a girl and he reading addiction.
Once upon a time there was a short little person names Martha. She had grown up loving books and reading as many as she could carry from the library (which at times was not that many because they were so thick and no one would help her carry more). One day while trolling through her newly made Goodreads account, she encountered a young lady with a blog (I can't remember which one it was) who had so many fun things regarding books. Reviews, Character Interviews, oh how she had fun going through her posts learning about new books she had never heard of as well as adding them to her TBR pile. Well when she went back to Goodreads she noticed there were threads dedciated solely to blogs and being followed and exchanging blog buttons. She started going through as many blogs as she could everyday at any free moment she had and following all the ones that caught her fancy (which were A LOT). She noticed that a lot mentioned that that they loved to share their opinions with others. "I like to share my opinion too." said Martha.

About a month after having created her Goodreads account and trolling through MANY blogs this little person decided to create one of her own. Now, she really had no idea hot to start. So she started with reviews here and there. Learned a whole lot of html she didn't know about before. Learned how to make buttons, banners, blog stops. Added giveaways once in a while. Interviewed Author and Character from time to time and before she knew it she had followers and review requests.

"My followers want a different voice and different opinions." said this little person so she decided to post a "Co-blogger needed" thread on Goodreads. That is when Hannah, the spunky reviewer was added. Not long after the little person added Catherine the great, Bobbi the charasmatic, and Nitza the marvelous. This little person was so happy because she had different voices and opinions and everything was AWESOME!

Now wasn't that a great story. ;D
I have a fantastic little interview. We talk birthdays, bouncy houses and more! Check it out!
Welcome Axel and Dean, to BooksBooks&MoreBooks!

I am sooooo happy to have you here celebrating with me our blogoversary!

Axel: Thank you for inviting us.
Dean: Pleasure is all mine. *grins*

I'm going to melt into a puddle! What do you guys usually do for your birthdays? Any special traditions? Cake is important to any anniversary/birthday celebrations. In my house we have a tradition where we make the person being celebrated try to bite into the cake and when they do we shove their face into the cake (we try to aim their face to a corner so as not to ruin the whole cake) which makes for a hilarious smearage of frosting all over their faces! *smiles with nostalgia*

Dean: *gestures toward Axel* Ladies first. I insist.*laughs*

Axel: Ever the charmer. *rolls eyes* At any rate, celebrating a birthday is all about spending it with you family and loved ones. Unfortunately, my father and brother like to celebrate in style with the rest of Dracians. So I get to spend it with them… and about thousand other people. *blushes*
Hmmm I wonder how I can get an invite to that kind of party...

Dean: That’s putting it lightly, more like the entire Dracia. *looks back to Martha* I think you’ve seen my style of celebration in Dracian Legacy. A little bit of beer, some music, and a whole lot of fun times that last into the wee hours the following morning.
Or even this one! Damn you nerves!

Describe your ideal anniversary/birthday party. Cake? Ice Cream? Friends and family of low key movie with a few close friends? *face becomes red as a tomato* Or maybe dinner with a special someone? *coughs nervously*

Axel: I think a nice quiet evening, maybe talking, would be my dream birthday. That would be welcoming change.
I'm sure it would be.

Dean: What makes you think what I’ve said above is not my ideal birthday party? Trying to be sneaky Martha? *winks*
*smiles cheekily* Always, Dean!

One year older! *gasp* I try to do one thing off of my bucket list. Do guys have bucket lists and if so what is one thing you've always wanted to do and haven't been able to yet? Romantic getaway? Climbing Mt Everest? Skydiving?

Dean: My bucket list is pretty short since I do what I want and when I want… about 99% of the time. But… there is one thing I’m saving for the end of my life is, I want to join the ashram where people devote their life to simplicity. I think that would be a nice way to go… Just simple and devoted to the entity that rules us.
Axel: *looks at Dean shocked* *clears throat* I would definitely like to travel the world for fun and not because duty calls.

Alright guys, time to fess up! One of you has kicked out all the little kids and jumped around the bouncy house laughing like a 7 year old!

Axel: Dean.

Dean: Me! *grins devilishly* I always take credit for my good deeds.
Haha! Dean you and I are two peas in a pod when it comes to bouncy houses!

Well that's all the time we have *saddens* for today but thank you so much to you Dean and Axel for stopping by and celebrating with me and the awesome bloggers! I hope to see the both of you soon! *smiles*

Axel and Dean: Thank you!

Dean: It’s always a pleasure to meet eligible single ladies… *looks up through hooded eyes* You are single, sweetheart?

Axel: Seriously dude, take it down a notch!
Those two are just so.....*attempts to stop drooling* Happy Blogoversary to us! ;P

Morning Glories by Nick Spencer

Morning Glories Vol. 1
by Nick Spencer
Reviewer: Bobbi
Pages: 188
Graphic Novel
  GoodReads Synopsis:
Morning Glory Academy

One of the most prestigious prep schools in the country...But behind it's hallowed doors something sinister and deadly lurks. When six brilliant but troubled new students arrive, they find themselves trapped and desperately seeking answers...and escape from a place where nothing is what it seems to be!
My Thoughts!

Hello Readers!  I have yet another awesome graphic novel for you to check out! :] Some of you may already be familiar with this series since volume 1 was published in 2011, but I felt i HAD to share it since it has become one of my favorites.

From the start, I knew something was off about the Morning Glory Academy, however you are not sure what..yet. Volume 1 is filled with short cut scenes that give you an insight of what is happening on the other side of campus allowing the reader to try to piece together the series.

The great thing about Morning Glories is the use of POV, or Point Of View. Personally as a reader, I love when authors use POV because it gives you greater insight to the other characters in the story. With a story such as Morning Glories you NEED POV to even attempt to understand the story. Hats off to the author for doing such a great job with it!

Now, if your the type of reader who enjoys reading a series, Morning Glories is for you! Morning Glories is already up to volume 4, and trust me when I say, you will NOT know what is going on at the school by reading only volume 1 :]

Hope you will enjoy it as I did :P
