Bobbi's Thoughts

Hello readers! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I know I did spending time with the family and seeing all the crowds at work. In case some of you haven't read from Bobbi's World, I work at a movie theatre :]

At first glace this is so not a book I would normally pick up, but after seeing the trailer for the movie, i just knew i needed to read this story.

The story follows Picine (Pi) through his findings of many different religions, which eventually he accepts all of them into his heart. His father runs a zoo in India, giving Pi the opportunity to learn about animals and how they behave. Pi is a very bright and opinionated boy. His family eventually decides to move to Canada. they travel by boat bringing their animals with them. Some are to be sold some are to be given to other zoo's. Pi barely escapes the ship sinking into the Pacific ocean and ends up on a lifeboat with several animals, including a Bengal Tiger! The main part of the story takes place with Pi and the animals aboard the life boat as he try's to survive.

Pi suffers greatly upon his journey, both physically and spiritually. He finds his way to adapt to the surroundings. He shows his courage to keep on living even though his situation is horrible and practically helpless.
In general i really enjoyed this book. I was weary at first to read and was, in away, not what i expected, but it was good unexpected. my only complaint about the story was some of the graphic scenes, but I'm also not good with those things in general. I also didn't care for the very ending if the story. The interview Pi has with the maritime officials is weird. It also left me with many questions as to what happened to Pi later on. Overall this was a nice read and the movie was good too :P

4/5 birds!

See you next time! <3 Bobbi
