Book Blurb:
In post-apocalypse America, every season, the Circus of Curiosities visits the city, bringing with it the most fantastic circus acts that are beautiful, majestic, curious, and death-defying. Every season performers for these acts are chosen from the young men and women in each town, trained, and sent to perform in a live grand performance, performed literally to the death. Two performers from Sea Cliff, a beach town at the outskirts of The Center find themselves chosen to be in this Summer's Circus Act. Both must win at any cost, but could they ignore their feelings for each other? Leela Sinclair needs to win in order to get to The Center where she can get medical help from the best physicians for her ailing mother, plague with a condition no one have heard of. For Zachary Nile, his reasons for becoming a performer at the Circus is more mysterious.  Only the ringmaster and the Circus of Curiosities owner Dex Hightower (Dr. Dex) knows what the touring Circus is really about amidst the magic and splendor.  Despite the Great War and the poverty surrounding the land except for the towns fortunate enough to be near the Center, Dr. Dex and the Circus performers all know, "The show must go on."

My Thoughts on Circus Summer:
I'd like to say that the fact that I received Circus Summer as an ARC copy has nothing to do with my honest review.

There are few books that I get so into that I actually finish in mere hours! Circus Summer is one of those books. Not only am I glad that I got a chance to read this I'm also anxious for November, which is when the sequel, Circus Autumn, is scheduled to be out! Not once did I ever feel the need to put this book down. In fact, I couldn't put this book down. It had me so absorbed I barely moved from the same spot I was laying in!

Leela is of my favorite characters with her determination, drive and will to get to the end of this journey to get her mother the help she needs. She is a heroine that people can look up to just as they look up to Katniss, Rose, and Tris! She is a very likeable character that would do anything to help her loved ones. There really is no hating a character like this. The lovely romance between Leela and Zachary was wonderful. The love that is so obvious from her best friend is palpable and I wish that she did love him even if it was just a tiny bit just because he is such a great guy that it kind of broke my heart a tiny bit when she chose Zachary over him.

The only problem I have with this book would probably be that it was too short! I wanted to keep going and find out what happened to Leela and Zachary in the next leg of their journey. I really like that Leela wasn't automatically thrown into the adventure knowing every secret that this town had but actually slowly moving her from being suspicious of the circus and the ringmaster and wanting to know what's going on. We were slowly eased into the problem and the situation that there was no error in us mistaking what was going on and how everyone and everything had an important role.

Do I recommend Circus Summer? Heck yes! Especially if you loved dystopia... and even if you don't really read dystopia I still recommend and suggest you read it.

I've Rates Circus Summer   ( 5/5 )

Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead

Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy, #3)Title: Shadow Kiss
Author: Richelle Mead

Goodreads Synopsis:
Rose Hathaway knows it is forbidden to love another guardian. Her best friend, Lissa—the last Dragomir princess—must always come first. Unfortunately, when it comes to gorgeous Dimitri Belikov, some rules are meant to be broken...

But since making her first Strigoi kills, Rose hasn’t been feeling right. Something dark has begun to grow in her mind, and ghostly shadows warn of a terrible evil drawing nearer to the Academy’s iron gates. And now that Lissa and Rose’s sworn enemy, Victor Dashkov, is on trial for his freedom, tensions in the Moroi world are higher than ever.

Lying to Lissa about Dimitri is one thing but suddenly there’s way more than friendship at stake. The immortal undead are on the prowl, and they want vengeance for the lives that Rose has stolen. In a heart-stopping battle to rival her worst nightmare, Rose will have to choose between life, love, and the two people who matter most... but will her choice mean that only one can survive?

My Thoughts on Shadow Kiss:
Today's Review is another Short, Sweet & to the Point Review.

Words cannot describe how shocked I am by this book. If definitely was not what I expected at all. There were so many incredible and surprising twists and turns that popped up that I almost couldn't see straight. In a good way through. I like being kept on my toes.
There were so many times were I wanted to hug Rose and tell her everything was going to be alright. But then of course I'd be lying through my teeth. I think when you feel this strongly about a functional character then you know the author has done a brilliant job!
If you have not read this series i strongly encourage you to. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!

I rated Shadow Kiss (5/5)

Blog Tour: Persephone by Kaitlin Bevis Review & Character Interview

PersephoneTitle: Persephone
Author: Kaitlin Bevis
Published: July 6, 2012 by Musa Publishing
Format: Ebook, 237 pages
Source: Author
Author: Goodreads | Website | Twitter
Buy: B&N | Amazon

Goodreads Synopsis:
There are worse things than death, worse people too

The “talk” was bad enough, but how many teens get told that they’re a goddess? When her mom tells her, Persephone is sure her mother has lost her mind. It isn’t until Boreas, the god of winter, tries to abduct her that she realizes her mother was telling the truth. Hades rescues her, and in order to safely bring Persephone to the Underworld he marks her as his bride. But Boreas will stop at nothing to get Persephone. Despite her growing feelings for Hades, Persephone wants to return to the living realm. Persephone must find a way to defeat Boreas and reclaim her life.

My Thoughts on Persephone:
Greek mythilogy has always been a huge interest for me since we first started talking about it in 6th grade. I think it was all the gods and their powers and the fact that they were portrayed as mean gods who wouldn't even help mortals when they really needed it or they were portrayed as the gods who did too much for mortals.

Persephone is a bit of both (and I mean the story itself not the MC). The MC, Persephone, is a very sweet and caring character who just happens to be a goddess. Her being a goddess becomes a problem becasue the evil Boreas is after her! Which is where Hades, the Lord of the Underworld steps in and makes her his wife so that she isn't captured. That is where all the advetures begin!

Persephone I found to be soooo realisitc in her personality. She reminded me of my younger sister, Lucia, in almost every way (which kind of freaked me out a bit because now I'm keeping an eye on the boys she's talking to hoping they aren't Hades!). I could see that she would go above and beyond for people and that is quality that a lot of the gods are sorely lacking! Now Hades on the other side, I, as well as Persephone, many times wanted to shake a little. I think I might have developed a little crush on him (even though I did want to shake!). He is a SOMEWHAT caring god and will actually listen even if he can't do anything about your situation.

The story takes us through Persephone finding out she's a goddess, geting married and dealing with the Underworld and everything that comes with these three. At times I felt as though I was a ghost seeing everything develop around me with all the character and the issues they face and sympathizing and empathizing. This beginning is the perfect setting for whatever is to come next and let me tell ya, I AM EXCITED!

(Keep scrolling to find out what I rated this book.)
Character Interview with Hades & Persephone!

Welcome Persephone and Hades to booksbooks&morebooks! I am very stoked to have you both here with me to answer a few questions. I loved your story of love, coming into your own and life in the Underworld.

Now Hades lets start with you. When you figured out that Persephone was in danger from those very evil souls, what was the first thing that crossed your mind?
Hades (souls): The very first thing? I had to save her. I was worried she'd get hurt and I was afraid I wouldn't get there in time. I don't get scared very often. Pretty much never until I net her. And as weird as it is, that made me mad. I knew I had to save her of course, but she had the whole Underworld to roam safely and she ends up in Tartarus? It's literally the only place in the entire Underworld that she could get hurt.
That makes sense. It's hard keeping a stubborn person out of danger. *cough cough* Persephone!
Now Hades, why did you think that making Persephone your wife would be the best way to keep her away from Boreas' reach? Was that really the only reason at the moment or was there another reason? *Quizzical face*
I don't know. I think about that a lot. On the one hand I didn't exactly have a lot of time. Boreas' last victim nearly drowned herself in the Lethe trying to escape the memories of what he did to her. Persephone wouldn't have had the luxury of dying. Cassandra told me what was happening and taking her to the Underworld was the easiest way to make sure she was out of harms way. My "plan" was just to pop up to the surface and evaluate the situation. Had it not been her... I don't know, I might have tried harder to find another way.
Persephone: but even in retrospect, there wasn't another way. I'm not exactly complaining about the arrangement.

Hehehehe I wouldn't mind either Persephone. *blushes*
So Persephone how does it feel to be married to the Hades? I mean he's the master of the Underworld. And at so young an age?
Hades: Marriage with the gods is mostly political. It's not like--
Persephone: We're not-- I mean we haven't-- Erm what I mean is--
Hades: there's a pretty significant age difference--
Persephone: I guess you could say its weird. It's really really weird. We're kind of figuring this out as we go.

*trying not to laugh* Ohhk.
Persephone describe Hades.

He's not what I expected...
Hades: *groans* thank the gods, what was it you said? Something about expecting me to be all disfigured and twisted like my dark and evil soul?
Persephone: you were supposed to have flaming blue hair too. But I don't just mean the way he looks, which incidentally... Wow!
Hades: *grins*
Persephone: he's also really full of himself. Its pretty annoying. But He's nice. He cares about people. He works really hard to make the underworld nice for the souls and he cares about his friends.... He's gone above and beyond for me, and he's honest. I mean beyond the not being able to lie thing. I trust him. Absolutely.
Trust is very important! Especially when two people are married. Now Hades it's your turn. Describe Persephone. Be honest now.
Well she's blonde, about five foot, has green eyes, and wears lots of skirts.
-.- very descriptive Hades. No really what is Peraephone like?
She's... I don't know, good. Better than the lot of us anyhow. She cares about people, not how she can best use them, and I don't have to try to interpret everything she says. She's like... light or air or something necessary. I can't imagine-- anyway, you get the idea.

Hades and Persephone. This question is for the both of you: what is next? What is going on with you two at the moment?
Hades: We're going to be pretty busy dealing with... Something we've just discovered
Persephone: *under her breath* you have no idea...
Hades:  I don't want to go into too many details, but that... Project is going to take precedence over anything else.
O.O ahhhh I'm so excited! And very intrigued!
Thank you Hades and Persephone for answering my questions! I hope to read more from you two soon.
Thanks! :)

Well I hope you guys enjoyed my Interview with The Lord of the Underworld, Hades, and The Queen and Goddess of Spring, Persephone I know I did!

Song of the Day #3

Hey guys!
I am currently working on writing out my reviews for several books which means that I am jamming to something to keep me going (because that is what music does for me, it keeps me motivated and going...like the energizer bunny!). At the moment I have Paramore loud and clear ringing out my my speakers.
Today's Song of the Day is by Paramore.
So what do y'all think of my choice? DO you like it? Hate it? Are Indifferent?
Share one of your favorite songs and if I like it. It might end up featured on my blog!

Song of the Day #2

My lovelies!
I've missed you all.
Now for todays Song of the Day...well I haven't been all that happy with what has happened in my family as of late therefore I want to make todays song a happy and lovey dovey one. I listen to just about every genre of music out there so this artist is also included in my iPod.
Selena Gomez - A Year Without Rain.
I have been listening to her because her music and lyrics go well with Persephone by Kaitlin Bevis (review to come soon).

Tell me. Do you like this song/artist?

Frostbite (Vampire Academy #2) by Ricehlle Mead

Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2)Title: Frostbite (Vampire Academy #2)
Author: Richelle Mead

Goodreads Synopsis:

Rose loves Dimitri, Dimitri might love Tasha, and Mason would die to be with Rose...

It’s winter break at St. Vladimir’s, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academy’s crawling with Guardians—including Rose’s hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. And if hand-to-hand combat with her mom wasn’t bad enough, Rose’s tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason’s got a huge crush on her, and Rose keeps getting stuck in Lissa’s head while she’s making out with her boyfriend, Christian! The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy’s not taking any risks... This year, St. Vlad’s annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.

But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only create the illusion of safety. When three friends run away in an offensive move against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. But heroism rarely comes without a price...

Short, Sweet & to the Point Review:
Richelle does it again! Man does she know how to write an incredible story or what!
In Forstbite Rose has to deal with her famous mother, her feelings for Dimitri, Mason, and the Strigoi. No big deal right? EHHH! Wrong! These are all huge deals but she does it almost gracefull (hah!).
There are two parts in this book that almost made me cry. I mean the tears were right there about come but I had to hold them back or my reputation as a tough girl would be tarnished :P
I can't tell you (I mean those who haven't begun this series) enough to read these first two books (I haven't read the rest yet). Seriously the hype is all legit!
I gave Frosbite (5/5) birds!

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1)Title: Vampire Academy
Author: Richelle Mead

Goodreads Synopsis:

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Short, Sweet & to the Point Thoughts:
I loved it! I can see why people are so into this series! Rose is one tough chick that you don't want to mess with because she'll figure out a way of getting what she wants! That is in almost everything. I loved that Lissa has a tough side to her.
There was no "oh she fell in love and now she's turned into a complete moron" for either of them which I applaud Richelle for because it tends to happen to most kick butt heroines.
Dimitri...*drool* how I wish you were real! :D
This was one of those "stay up til 4 AM devouring as much as I could before sleep finally won over" kind of books!
Read it! You won't regret it!

I've Rated Vampire Academy  (5/5) birds.

Song of the day #1

Hello!

I've decided I'll be posting my Song of the Days on a regular post then on the page I usually do. I pinky promise I will try to update as regularly as I can.

On that note, today's Song is by astonishing new singer that I recently discovered. She has such an incredible voice I am rendered speechless!

She is Katherine Jenkins.

My pops and I have always shared the same taste in music (which is no surprise since I take from him most of all) and when he saw Jenkins belting it out he immediately called me over to listen. Ever since I always play her music around my room whilst reading.

I hope you enjoy her beautiful music as much as I do.

Blog Tour: The Watcher Cover Reveal + Giveaway!

The Watcher
Author: Lisa Voisin

I truly love Cover Reveals because we get to see all the brand new beautiful covers for all htese new books. I'm pretty sure we all do though.

Before you see the cover though here is the synopsis to The Watcher.

Millennia ago, he fell from heaven for her.
Can he face her without falling again?
Fascinated with ancient civilizations, seventeen-year-old Mia Crawford dreams of becoming an archaeologist. She also dreams of wings—soft and silent like snow—and somebody trying to steal them.
When a horrible creature appears out of thin air and attacks her, she knows Michael Fontaine is involved, though he claims to know nothing about it. Secretive and aloof, Michael evokes feelings in Mia that she doesn’t understand. Images of another time and place haunt her. She recognizes them—but not from any textbook.
In search of the truth, Mia discovers a past life of forbidden love, jealousy and revenge that tore an angel from Heaven and sent her to an early grave. Now that her soul has returned, does she have a chance at loving that angel again? Or will an age-old nemesis destroy them both?
Ancient history is only the beginning.

Here is some info about the author.

Here is the Cover!

I LOVE this cover! The colors are beautiful. I love that she's sort of hiding and showing her tattoo at the same time. The feathers floating across the page are amazing and perfectly white. The color for the title I would change to maybe a simple black but it doesn't bother me too much.
 What do you guys think?

The Watcher is being released on March 4th 2013. So far away, right?!

So that is not the only thing going on this post. Nope. There is a giveaway!
