Jade Varden Interview & Giveaway

Once in a while you'll find an Indie Author that is stunning in her written work. I am happy to say that I have found yet another one (how am I so lucky?)
Ladies & Gentlemen I present to say the marvelous Jade Varden!
I've read and reviewed 'Justice' and you can read it HERE.

Hello Jade! And welcome to booksbooks&morebooks! I'm very happy to have you here.
Hi! Thanks for having me.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you share with us a little bit about yourself?
I’ve been writing since I was a kid, and I’ve always consistently enjoyed reading YA books, so it just felt natural for me to write them. I also write freelance articles for a fashion magazine called VAR and I blog self-publishing and writing tips for other indies.
Wow!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Personally I thought 'Justice' was an amazing book. Can you share with us how the idea came about.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I was inspired to write Justice by asking myself what it would be like to be taken away from one family and suddenly put into another. The more I thought about it, the bigger the idea became, and soon I had four books planned.
One little idea became something great and incredible!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Are any of the characters modeled after anyone or are they pure Jade imagination?
*laughter* Well maybe I shouldn’t say it, but Violet is sort of inspired by my stepmother in some ways. Carsyn are Laurel both have characteristics that are definitely modeled after some of the girls I knew in high school.
Hehehe I'm sure it's the impeccable fashion sense :D
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you could pick any character in any book to be real, who would it be? ;D
River. I know a few readers who would want to meet him.
Add me to that list please! :D
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What was your favorite chapter or scene to write and why?
My favorite scenes to write were the ones with River, and the one near the end with Owen and Rain. I had fun planting hints and non-hints and little extras in there that are going to appear again in later books.
Oohh I might have to re-read it to see if I can spot them all.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Describe your writing style twitter style. 140 characters or less. Go!
Imagine. Write. Get stuck, walk. Think. Write. Edit. Re-write. Agonize. Edit again. Read!
I like your style :D
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment?
It’s hard to answer both of those questions. Every criticism is tough, and it always stings a little. But every criticism is also really important, because it’s something I can use to make my writing better. And of course every compliment is wonderful. I’m just happy to hear that a reader liked the book.
It's the endless cycle of winning some and loosing some.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, you must answer my most serious question of all time...Superman or Batman?
Batman. He’s not an alien, he’s a billionaire and he’s just a normal guy with a lot of gadgets -- no superpowers. But the only Batman, and I cannot stress this enough, is Michael Keaton.
Ahhh man! I like Batman but Superman is my alien. :D
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you currently working on anything new at the moment? If so could you give us a tiny little taste as to what it's about?
Yes! I’m finishing up the Deck of Lies series now. The first draft of Death is complete and I’m working on my outline for the fourth book.
Exciting! I'll be sure to add them to my to-read list.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hypothetical situation: you're stuck in Antarctica. What are the three things you hope you brought?
Some sort of radar device to help me find a research facility so I can survive. That’s paramount. Some sort of fuel to make a fire. And I guess warm clothing, a lot of it.
These are must have items we should carry around...just in case O.o
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is it that you do when you're not writing books about lies, kidnappers, and crazy boyfriends?
I really don’t have a lot of free time because I write 12 hours a day, but when I do get a little time I’m a big video gamer. You can find me on my Wii very early in the morning.
You and my 14 year old brother would get along very well, I think. Hahaha!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there anything you'd like to say to your readers/fans?
