Title: River Cast
Author: Samantha Young
Goodreads Synopsis: Enter a world of fierce wolves, stunning magic and romance...
Swept into the world of the Daylight Coven, Caia is caught between her loyalty to the Daylights and her new insight into the hearts of the Midnights. As more obstacles are thrown in her and Lucien's way, Caia is pushed further adrift from him and Pack Errante. With no one to turn to, Caia has to make the most difficult choice of all...
Who does she truly belong with? The Daylights or the Midnights?
YA Paranormal Romance recommended for ages 16 and up.
"Well, forget about the verbal arm wrestling! Why don't you just pee on me and everything I own?!"
He smirked and turned away to saunter into the bathroom. "I will if it comes to that."
Ryder laughed, ducking the shoe that flew at his head as he closed the door on her.
He chuckled and took hold of her hand, leading her out of the fairly quiet gymnasium. "If you're going to be this bad mother-you know, then you are going to have to start sounding like you're aware you're the bomb."
She snorted. "The bomb?"
Lucien turned to her as they walked across the parking lot. "Was that wrong?"
"So wrong it was painful."
He shrugged, unfazed. "Well, you know what I mean."
"You like saying that, don't you?" Ryder grinned. "My mate."
"Yeah, but that's beside the point."
River Cast takes off where Moon Spell left off, with Jae leaving the Pack and meeting Reuben and Caia and Lucien trying to figure out their mates/not mates relationship.
Jae amazes me(and it seems Ryder as well), after everything she went through she is still a very strong young woman. Yes she is still haunted by what Ethan did to her but the time away from her family/pack did her good. Having Ryder get her through most of this is also a plus.
Caia and Lucien frustrated me a whole lot in 'Moon Spell'. They were clearly in love with each other and yet they were both to stubborn to admit/talk about their feelings! In most of this book they also frustrated me but I'm happy with the end result. Now lets just hope Lucien doesn't go on a killing streak (we'll have to read the next book 'Blood Solstice' to find out). I was proud with Caia keeping her ego in check when shes at the Center as well as her temper with Lucien and she who shall not be named.
In the first book I was a bit thrown off when Ethan's POV would pop up but now I kind of enjoy reading the villain's POV. Kind of like Caia's trace, we get to tap into their heads a bit to see who they're scheming and plotting with.
The Tale of Lunamorte series is shaping up to be one of my favorite series with down to earth, Caia, Lucien, Ryder and the rest of the characters in the series. I defenitily recommend everyone to read this awesome book!
